Introduction to ICADR

The Justice dispensing system in India has come under great stress for several reasons, Chief of them being the huge pendency of cases in courts underlining the need for alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods. The Government of India thought it necessary to provide a new forum and procedure for resolving international and domestic commercial disputes quickly.


The ICADR is an autonomous organization with its Headquarters at New Delhi and Regional Centres at Hyderabad, Bengaluru and in Andhra Pradesh. The Regional Centres of ICADR are fully funded and supported by the respective State Governments.


The Hon'ble Chief Justice of India is the Chairperson of ICADR.


The ICADR, Regional Centre, Hyderabad was established in the year 1998 by the erstwhile Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Hon'ble Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh is its Patron.Hon'ble Shri Justice A.V.Sesha Sai, Judge, High Court of Andhra Pradesh is the Executive Chairman of ICADR in Andhra Pradesh. The Advisory Council consists of the Law Secretary, Finance Secretary, Advocate-General, Engineer-in-Chief and others as its Members.
